ARRIVAL IN KENYA

Arriving via Nairobi (JKIA – NBO)

Delegates arriving in Kenya through Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), Nairobi, are strongly advised to connect by air to the South Coast.

The recommended option is a domestic flight from Nairobi to Ukunda Airstrip (UKA), which serves Diani Beach and is the closest airport to the conference venue.

This is the fastest, safest, and most convenient option for international delegates.

IMPORTANT ADVISORY

Road & Rail Travel from Nairobi

While it is possible to drive from Nairobi to Diani or use the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) to Mombasa, these options are not recommended for conference delegates.

  • Road travel from Nairobi is long, involves narrow roads and variable conditions
  • The SGR requires multiple transfers and significantly increases travel time
  • Public road transport is discouraged due to security and logistical challenges
Delegates unfamiliar with the local terrain are advised to avoid these options.
